Students were introduced to the same concept and activities as the 4th and 5th grade. They began to play and experiment with paper. The material was manipulated by folding and cutting with scissors. Various collages were created and students expressed their thoughts about the activity and how it felt to create. Ms. Vicky also taught students how to bookbind via the saddle stitch. Each student created a book relating to their family, memories and experiences in their neighborhood.

Student #3An AHA moment Student and teacher curation discussion Adam is discussing why he made Zelda's Sword. As the discussion goes deeper he realizes that his sword represents several layers of who he is. Later in the discussion he realizes that there are several students that chose gaming as an aspect of their culture. He was validated and went on the collaborate with the rest of the artist who chose gaming.
The 6th graders worked on stitching for a number of weeks. They began by sewing their personal patterns onto felt and moved on by partnering with other students to stitch both fragments together. After that, they pieced together partner work with other groups, transforming into the final project.
