Kipling School strives to provide a rigorous program while addressing the individual needs of our students.
Kipling offers a Fine and Performing Arts Magnet Program with classes in general music, instrumental music, drama, and dance along with the core curriculum of reading, math, science, and social studies. Visual arts and creative writing classes are also offered. We offer a rigorous curriculum which includes formal writing instructional beginning as early as kindergarten.
Magnet Cluster Lead Teacher
Christine Wyatt is the general music teacher at Kipling. She teaches music to students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade and choir. She coordinates the many performing events that occur throughout the year at Kipling and collaborates with the classroom teachers to integrate music in the core curriculum.
Crystal Stohr Hall currently resides in Chicago, IL, where she is a busy freelance oboist and teaching artist. From 2006-2013, she was the oboist and Director of Educational Programming for Chicago-based chamber group Fifth House Ensemble. In that capacity Crystal performed for thousands of students from kindergarten through high school and worked in residency in several Chicago Public Schools. She plays with numerous groups throughout tri-state area and holds the 2nd oboe/English horn position with the Rockford Symphony. Crystal maintains a large private oboe studio with students from beginners to adults, sells hand-made oboe reeds, and also teaches oboe at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. In her spare time, she enjoys sharing her love of music with her daughters (born Nov. 2009 and July 2012) and trying to convince her husband to start a folk duo called the Refrigerator Magnets.
