Magnet Cluster Lead Teacher
Linda DeGuzman has been the music teacher at Perez for 20 years. Before Perez, she taught music and literacy at two other schools in Chicago and Michigan. Ms. DeGuzman received her B.S. degree in music performance (organ) and education from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska and a M.A.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from National Louis University.
Linda’s philosophy as a music teacher is to reach all children through music. Her teaching experience has a strong focus in Orff and musical theater, particularly school assemblies and original student opera.
She believes that there is no one who can’t sing.
Linda is originally from Wisconsin and enjoys travel as well as spending time with family and friends. She has travelled in over 25 countries.
Bryna Berezowska holds a Masters’ degree from North Park University in performance and pedagogy. She currently performs with Chicago Opera Playhouse, and teaches with the Chicago Opera Theater outreach program. She also appears in various commercial music videos, film and other theater shows around Chicago. Her background includes opera, musical theater, jazz, and popular music singing as well as dance, acting, composition and more! She is delighted to be working with Ms. DeGuzman as a teaching artist at Perez Elementary!
